As part of the annual Banned Books Week, the HST library displayed various books that had been banned at some point in history. “We focused this year on banned theological books,” says Bob Turner, circulation librarian. Titles included works by such influential Christian thinkers as John Calvin, Martin Luther, and Hans Küng. The display also acknowledges non-Christian authors, such as Charles Darwin and Aristotle, whose banned books have played important roles in theological discussions.
