Church Planting

Church planters establish churches in areas open for a community of God’s people, often serving as missionaries within their own culture.

Since church planters are ministers, their training at Harding School of Theology includes resources both for ministering to individuals and families and for developing and implementing a church plant strategy.

Church planters typically work toward the Master of Divinity because of the diversity of skills needed in a church plant situation. The M.A. in Christian Ministry also has church planting options. The distance learning program Ministry Connection allows students anywhere in the world to work toward their M.A. in Christian Ministry without moving to Memphis.
