HST Honors Leon Sanderson

December 20, 2011 | Written by Matt Carter

Each year at the Annual Leadership Council Dinner, HST honors an alumnus for their faithfulness in ministry. On October 8, 2011, HST paid tribute to Dr. Leon Sanderson.

Leon received his BA in Speech from Harding University in 1956. He received a BS in Church Music from the University of Memphis in 1959. He received his MRE, MDiv, and DMin from Harding School of Theology in 1963, 1998, and 2007. Leon has served congregations in Alabama and Tennessee for over 50 years.

The majority of his ministry in Memphis was in the Park Avenue, Highland, and White Station congregations. He directed the chorus at Harding Academy from 1959 to 1961 and taught there from 1976 to 1987.

You may see the video tribute presented at the event here or watch part 1 of 3 below.
